KENTE BALL, a distinguished annual black-tie fundraising event showcasing African arts and cuisine. This groundbreaking event represents a significant milestone for the Sankofa Foundation, as well as the first black-tie event in the DC metro area exclusively celebrating African arts and cuisine. Recognizing that not everyone can travel to Africa to experience its rich cultural heritage, we aim to bring the richness of Africa's cultural heritage in arts, fashion, and food to America through this event.

Our objective is to provide educational programs and training regarding African arts, encompassing food, music, drama, dance, storytelling, language, and various forms of fine and performing arts. We strive to offer our programs and general admission to all events free of charge to all attendees. Your support through our fundraising initiatives and donations enables us to cover the costs associated with programming and arts supplies, ultimately facilitating community education about Africa and its rich cultural heritage.
